Wine
De Bortoli Riverina Noble One Botrytis Semillon is an internationally acclaimed Australian sweet wine.
It was created by Darren De Bortoli in 1982, pioneering Botrytis Semillon in Australia.
Botrytis cinerea, or Noble Rot, is a mould that causes the grapes to shrivel and become laden with golden, concentrated juice. Botrytis cinerea occurs in very particular climatic settings, a delicate balance of moist and sunny conditions.
Many decades of experience with their Riverina vineyard allows De Bortoli to harvest the Botrytised grapes at just the right time. Another trusted long standing supplier also provides fruit.
Each parcel is fermented separately to ensure the flavour of its vineyard is captured in the final wine. After 12 months ageing in French oak barriques, the parcels are blended. After bottling the wine matures for a further year before release.
A bright golden hue, De Bortoli Riverina Noble One Botrytis Semillon is sweet and full bodied with rich citrus and honeyed stone fruit flavours. Its sweetness, spice and acidity deftly layered.
Noble One is a benchmark in Australian Botrytis winemaking. Cellaring potential is seven years.
